Job Description
Depuy Synthes (DPS) is recruiting for a Senior Manager, Strategic Capacity Management located in Raynham-MA, Warsaw-IN, West Chester-PA, Palm Beach Gardens-FL, Raritan-NJ, Cork-IE, Suzhou-CN or Leeds-UK.
Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopedics business to establish a standalone orthopedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans.

Key Responsibilities
People

Develop and mentor the team under your responsibility, to generate long‑range supply models, validated by business partners.
Ensure talent development of team through delivery of performance management processes (goal setting, development plan creation and performance reviews).
Own/maintain training and development materials, as well as network capacity model documentation as needed.

Process

Continue the journey to advance the maturity of the Strategic Capacity Management process across all Orthopedics Platforms, using the J&J SCM Blueprint.
Embed a new process/mentality in the organization, by demonstrating influence without authority, mastering executive communication and internal networking outside of PLAN (Engineering, MAKE, Commercial, Global Strategic Marketing).
Proactively identify business opportunities related not only to capacity issues in our network, but also to areas such as new product launches, new technology requirements, business continuity planning, regulatory validations, inventory/cycle time management, etc.
Apply general management principles, by being able to discuss topics that are related to capacity implications, such as Procedure Revenue Forecasts, Gross Profit, Market Share, Inventory, as well as implications by Market/Region, Phase In‑Phase out strategies and assumptions, Inventory/Waste, etc.
Collaborate with Field Asset Management, Global Strategic Marketing and Commercial Excellence, to advance maturity related to the Long‑Range Portfolio Planning (LRPP) process and tools.

Tools

Own / execute / develop Strategic Capacity Management software, including network modeling, optimization, reporting and probabilistic simulation tools.
Ability to model and simulate theoretical scenarios that may include DELIVER or Market models, for which new tools will need to be self‑designed and demonstrated.
Champion the adoption of large‑data modeling tools like Python/R/Alteryx, to ensure the ability to process datasets efficiently.

Qualifications
Education

Minimum of a Bachelor’s or equivalent University Degree required.
STEM‑related degrees, including but not limited to Engineering, Operations Research, Logistics, Supply chain, Computing, Finance or Economics.

Required
Experience and Skills

Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience.
Relevant team leadership experience in a logistics, planning and/or manufacturing environment; within the Medical Device, or other relevant industries, such as Consumer Products, Electronics, or Automotive.
Proven expertise building process models, to demonstrate flow / constraints.
Working experience with simulation and optimization models and tools.

Preferred

Master’s degree or equivalent experience, with demonstrated background in advanced analytics.
Working knowledge of Advanced Planning Systems (APS) such as APO, OMP, Kinaxis or Blue Yonder (Manugistics). Ability to train others, validate and/or challenge models and assumptions.
Knowledge of Theory of Constraints and/or System Dynamics, with experience in practical applications.
Modeling experience in simulation software like SIMIO or Analogic is a plus.

Other

English language proficiency required. Spanish or Chinese, a plus.
Requires up to 15% travel both domestically and internationally.
