The Internal Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the internal sales, administration, and trade counter functions within the warehouse. The role ensures efficient, cost-effective operations that comply with all relevant legislation, regulations, and company policies. A key focus is maintaining high levels of customer service and operational productivity while upholding Health & Safety and Quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, coach, and develop the Internal Sales, Administration, and Trade Counter teams.
* Ensure a high standard of customer service across all internal sales touchpoints.
* Manage internal sales targets and ensure KPIs are met.
* Oversee order processing, pricing, invoicing, credit control, and related administration.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date price lists, catalogues, and customer account information.
* Coordinate daily with Procurement, Transport, and Warehouse teams to support efficient workflow and deliveries.
* Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety procedures, completing regular checks and participating in risk assessments.
* Implement and maintain company policies, SOPs, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
* Support communication with external sales reps regarding project enquiries and pricing.
Job Requirements
* Proven experience in internal sales, customer service, or trade counter management (construction/warehouse sector preferred).
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and support a team.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel (ERP experience a plus).
* Track record of achieving KPIs and delivering strong service levels.
* Highly organised with strong planning and time management abilities.
