Job Title: Head of IT
Location: Mullingar, Onsite
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the IT function, ensuring services consistently meet business requirements and align with recognised industry best practices.
2. Serve as the primary IT contact for senior leadership, keeping executives and business stakeholders informed on all technology matters.
3. Work closely with every department to understand their technology needs and design solutions that address them effectively.
4. Plan and oversee the rollout of new technologies, providing direction to the internal IT team, managed service partners, and other staff.
5. Own the integration and day-to-day reliability of the Website, ERP, and WMS platforms, ensuring customer orders flow through these systems efficiently.
6. Oversee all aspects of ICT service delivery to maintain a secure, dependable, and fully operational environment.
7. Establish and uphold appropriate governance for IT services and projects.
8. Define and execute the IT strategy in support of the company's mission and strategic goals.
9. Manage vendor relationships and procurement, including negotiating SLAs and holding suppliers to agreed targets and standards.
10. Create and enforce policies, procedures, and standards for IT systems, services, and frameworks in line with best practice.
11. Hold overall accountability for IT Security and Disaster Recovery.
12. Develop and control the IT budget, prioritising spend according to company objectives.
13. Manage projects across infrastructure rollouts, consolidations, and upgrades.
14. Contribute to business-wide process improvement initiatives.
15. Continuously monitor emerging technologies and assess their potential benefits for the organisation.
Experience & Skills
16. Proven background in IT leadership with 7+ years in IT, covering strong Infrastructure, Network, and Applications Support experience—preferably within warehousing/manufacturing.
17. Demonstrated ability to derive value from ERP systems in warehousing/manufacturing, including use of reporting tools to present insights for decision-making.
18. Solid project management capability and experience applying structured project management frameworks.
19. Strong understanding of business processes with a track record of using technology to drive efficiency.
20. Excellent vendor and relationship management skills.
21. Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities.
22. Outstanding communication skills.
23. Broad functional and technical knowledge of IT systems and technology trends, with awareness of the risks and opportunities they create for the business.
24. Wide familiarity with ICT systems, applications, and operating systems.
25. Awareness of Data Protection legislation and its implications for ICT.
