About Us
Stewarts Care is a long-established voluntary organisation, funded by the HSE under Section 38. We support people with intellectual disabilities through residential care, day services, independent living, job advocacy, and vocational training.
Purpose of the Post
Reporting to the Sports Centre Manager, Palmerstown, the Sports Centre Care Staff will be on a temporary, full-time contract. The successful candidate will teach swimming at various levels, both from the water and the poolside, from beginner to lengths. They will also undertake lifeguard duties, teach gym classes, provide personal training services.
Experience and Qualifications
* Full or Assistant Swim Teaching qualification is desirable but not essential.
* A Pool Lifeguard Qualification is desirable but not essential.
* Recognised REP's, Gym Instruction or personal trainer qualification such as ITEC, NCEF, NCEHS or other qualification is desirable but not essential.
* First aid/AED qualification is desirable but not essential.
* You must have an understanding, interest and commitment in working with people with additional needs.
* You must have an understanding, interest and commitment in working with children.
* Ability to teach a wide range of fitness classes/swim teaching classes.
* Experience teaching or coaching.
* Demonstrate excellent communication skills.
* Have excellent social and interpersonal skills.

Salary
In line with the Department of Health consolidated pay scales, the current salary scale is Care Assistant, €34,036 – €47,454 per annum (including LSI).
