About the Company:
Our client here at Inform3 are a leading food production company committed to sustainability, safety, and quality. They are currently looking for a Junior H&S Officer to support the management of our health and safety practices.
As a Junior H&S Officer, you’ll assist in developing and enforcing health and safety policies, ensuring compliance across operations, conducting risk assessments, audits, and safety reports. You’ll work closely with the H&S Manager to improve workplace safety standards.
Duties Involve:
* Implement, improve and enhance the sites safety management system.
* Support, advise and provide technical expertise to Managers in ensuring legislative compliance and improving health and safety in the business.
* To conduct and attend regular meetings with the plant managers and supervisors.
* To support and implement leading indicator programme including the reporting of good saves, completion of safety audits and inspections and safety conversations.
* To ensure all accidents and near misses are fully reported and investigated.
* To review, develop, and implement health and safety procedures, policies, work instructions, checklists and other documentation as required.
* Identify training needs and assist in the management of training records.
* To deliver health and safety inductions and other safety training as required with the team.
* Support the preparation of health safety reports for the business.
* To attend monthly safety committee meetings and record the associated meeting minutes for each division.
Skills Required:
* Qualification or equivalent within H&S or 1 year of relevant experience.
* Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office).
* Ability to work independently and solve problems proactively. -
* Experience in food production/manufacturing (preferred).
* NEBOSH Certification.
* Excellent communication skills.
