Reporting to the MEP Lead, the Quality Control Engineer is responsible for supporting and maintaining quality assurance and control processes across all phases of construction and engineering delivery.
The role ensures that works are executed in compliance with project specifications, client requirements, and relevant industry and regulatory standards.
The Quality Control Engineer plays a key role in driving continuous improvement, supporting inspections and audits, and fostering a strong culture of quality and accountability on site.
Responsibilities
Quality Management
Implement and maintain the project's Quality Management Plan, ensuring alignment with Sisk standards and client expectations
Conduct inspections and audits to verify that works comply with design, specification and procedural requirements
Manage quality documentation, including inspection and test plans, method statements, and records of compliance
Support the review and approval of subcontractor quality plans and ensure adherence to contractual obligations
Monitor and record non-conformances, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are identified and completed
Technical Support and Continuous Improvement
Provide technical support to site teams, engineers and supervisors in understanding and implementing quality procedures
Contribute to lessons learned reviews and promote best practice in workmanship, testing and documentation control
Support commissioning and handover processes, ensuring systems and deliverables meet validation and client standards
Assist in the development of project-specific checklists and verification procedures to ensure consistent delivery
Coordination and Reporting
Liaise with clients, consultants and third-party inspectors on quality-related matters
Prepare quality reports and summaries for inclusion in project reviews and progress updates
Coordinate with construction, engineering, and commissioning teams to ensure alignment on quality expectations and closeout requirements
Maintain open communication with subcontractors to promote collaboration and shared accountability for quality performance
Experience
Essential
Strong understanding of quality management principles, inspection processes and relevant standards (e.g. ISO ****)
Proven experience working within a quality or engineering function on large-scale construction or industrial projects
Strong technical knowledge of construction materials, methods and testing procedures
Excellent organisational and analytical skills with attention to detail
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and promote a culture of continuous improvement
Desirable
Experience in life sciences, pharmaceutical, data centre or advanced manufacturing environments
Familiarity with GMP, cleanroom or regulatory quality systems
Knowledge of commissioning, validation and turnover documentation requirements
Experience using digital quality management tools or field inspection software
Qualifications
Essential
Degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, Quality Management or a related discipline
Demonstrated experience in a quality or site-based engineering role
Relevant safety training (e.g. Safe Pass, CSCS or equivalent)
Desirable
Professional membership or certification in Quality (e.g. CQI, IRCA or equivalent)
Training in internal auditing, ISO ****, or quality system management
Postgraduate qualification in quality or project management
