Special Care Worker (Coru Registered or in Process)
Location: Dublin
Base pay range: HSE Incremental Salary Scale: €37,055 - €68,169 per annum
Special Care Allowance in addition per annum
Contract: Permanent / Full‑time
Providing short‑term, therapeutic, and stabilizing care to young people (typically aged 11‑17) who are at risk and in need of a secure and supportive environment.
These Special Care Units differ from general residential care in several key ways:
* Secure and therapeutic
* Higher staff‑to‑young‑person ratios, often with on‑site education and psychological input
* Placement is for the youth's safety and welfare
What you need:
* Level 7 qualification in Social Care or a related discipline
* Experience working with children
* Eligible to work in Ireland
* Knowledge of child protection, safeguarding, and trauma‑informed care
* CORU registered or in process application
* Public service role with high salary and pension scheme
* Additional allowances
* 39 hours per week on a roster system (including day and night shifts)
