Clinical Data Manager Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Clinical Data Manager to join our team on a full-time and permanent basis. The successful candidate will provide professional support to the Quality & Risk Department, designing structures and programs to enhance the Hospital Quality & Accreditation Programs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Clinical reviews of patient records.
* Oversee the management of Local Investigations and Root Cause Analysis reviews.
* Manage and review all clinical data captured within the Quality department and other relevant departments, ensuring data capture and reports meet operational, management, and clinical audit requirements.
* Publish relevant and agreed data for monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
* The reconciliation of reports from various sources throughout the hospital that contribute to the annual report, ensuring reliability and validity of information.
* Provide training within the hospital to relevant staff on clinical data capture and systems.
* Disseminate summaries of clinical data to relevant personnel.
* Coordinate the production of information to supply reports for specific purposes or groups within and outside the hospital.
* Act as a resource for audit and research projects within the organization.
Requirements:
* A health professional background, e.g., Nursing or Allied Health Professional, or equivalent experience.
* Masters Degree in a health-related discipline desirable.
* Advanced IT qualification essential.
* Strong IT skills, including database management and experience with statistical analysis software.
* Joint Commission International (JCI) & HIQA experience desirable.
* Experience of managing research or health-related projects.
* Good interpersonal skills.
* Awareness/sensitivity toward patient needs.
* Discretion and ability to use initiative.
* 3 years' experience in a relevant clinical administration role in an acute hospital.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proven managerial/leadership skills and an ability to motivate.
