Financial Controller – Dublin City Centre, Hybrid
Location: Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland
We’re looking for an experienced financial controller to join our International Accounting team in Dublin. This role focuses on technical accounting and financial reporting for a fast‑paced, growing business.
Responsibilities
* Lead the monthly close of US GAAP books.
* Develop a deep understanding of the company’s transactions and contracts with cross‑functioning teams.
* Maintain fluency with US GAAP, IFRS and FRS 102, producing necessary technical accounting memoranda.
* Own the financial statement preparation, audit support, and presentation to the board of directors.
* Partner effectively with Tax, Transfer Pricing, Treasury, Corporate Accounting, and Legal teams on diverse projects.
* Supervise finance outsourcing partners to ensure compliance and filing requirements are met on time.
* Improve existing processes through simplification and automation to increase efficiency.
* Stay informed on changes in accounting and tax regulations in Ireland.
* Oversee the preparation and review of direct and indirect tax returns.
Minimum Requirements
* 8+ years of experience in audit (Big Four preferred) or finance in payments industry, financial services, or tech.
* Demonstrated technical expertise in IFRS/FRS 102 & US GAAP.
* Experience with consolidation.
* Detail‑oriented with exceptional organizational, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
* Audit knowledge: experience with large audits and tax filings.
* Project management experience in cross‑functional initiatives.
* Adaptability to changing requirements in a fast‑paced environment.
* Professional certification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is a plus.
* Self‑starter with strong initiative.
Preferred Qualifications
* Knowledge of or experience in the payments, fintech, or financial services industries.
* Accounting experience in a fast‑growing tech environment.
* Experience with Hubble/SQL is beneficial.
In‑office Expectations
We expect Stripes in this location to spend at least 50% of the time in a local office each month, with variations depending on role and team. Specific attendance requirements will be discussed with the hiring manager.
Pay and Benefits
The annual salary range for this role is €78,400 – €117,600. Additional compensation may include equity, company bonus, sales commissions, retirement plans, health benefits, and wellness stipends. The exact range may vary by location and will be clarified during the interview process.
