Rosderra Farms Management Position Rosderra Farms are seeking to employ an experienced and dedicated Farm Manager to oversee the daily operations of one of our pig farms in Ireland. Report: This is a senior position within the Rosderra Farms business. The Manager will report to the Head of Pig Procurement. The Manager will operate with the support of the Farms Accountant, HR Manager, Environmental Manager and H&S officer to ensure compliance with all the various regulatory requirements. The main duties/responsibilities include: Manage and oversee all aspects of the pig farm including the daily care, feeding, and well-being of pigs at all stages of production (sows, boars, piglets, and fatteners) and making recommendations to improve performance and health of pigs Ensure that pigs are raised in accordance with health and welfare standards, including vaccinations, disease prevention, and treatment. Monitor the health of pigs, identifying signs of illness and coordinating with veterinarians as needed. Evaluating the physical performance against best practice and ensuring standards are progressed to achieve best practice Ensuring all production records are maintained Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements such as DAFM and EPA. Implementing a standardised work routine and pig flow rotation across all aspects of the farm. Supervise, train, and manage farm employees, including both local and foreign staff, ensuring clear communication and efficient teamwork. Assign tasks and schedules for employees, ensuring that daily operations run smoothly and efficiently. Requirements: Minimum of 3-5 years in a farm management role, preferably within pig farming. The applicant will need to have technical and practical competence, as well as the ability to make sound husbandry and business decisions Previous experience is essential and any formal qualification is greatly valued. A track record in dealing and managing staff would be helpful. Salary and Working Hours: The salary for this position will be competitive and reflect the importance of the position as well as level of experience.
