About the Role:
We're seeking a Business Analyst- Data Risk to support the enterprise risk function at a global financial institution. This role plays a key part in a major data transformation programme focused on improving the accuracy, quality, and governance of critical risk data used in regulatory and executive reporting.
As part of the Enterprise Risk Data team, you’ll help design and document how risk data flows through systems, support data quality issue resolution, and ensure risk reports comply with global data governance standards (e.g., BCBS-239). You’ll act as a bridge between business and technology, working with stakeholders across Risk, Compliance, Technology, and Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Gather and document business and data requirements for risk reports
* Analyse and map how data flows across systems (data lineage)
* Identify data quality issues and help define controls to reduce risk
* Maintain key data governance artifacts (metadata, data dictionaries, process maps)
* Partner with business stakeholders and technology teams to implement data solutions
* Support project reporting, issue tracking, and stakeholder communication
* Assist in change management processes and risk reduction plans
Requirements:
* 8+ years’ experience in financial services, with strong knowledge of Risk or Regulatory Reporting
* Proven experience as a Business Analyst on data-focused or transformation projects
* Hands-on experience with data analysis, data lineage, and/or data governance
* Familiarity with BCBS-239, data governance policies, and risk frameworks is highly desirable
* Excellent documentation, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills
* Ability to translate complex data issues into clear business impact
* Strong understanding of Agile delivery and working with cross-functional teams
* Knowledge of tools such as SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Collibra, or similar is a plus
