Chanelle Pharma is offering an exciting opportunity to join our structured two-year Level 6 Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship Programme. This initiative is designed to equip apprentices with both practical laboratory skills and an academic qualification, all while gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic pharmaceutical environment.
Location: 3 days onsite in our QC Laboratory in Loughrea, Co. Galway, and 2 days onsite in Technical University of the Shannon Campus, Athlone, Co. Westmeath.
As an Apprentice Laboratory Technician, your key responsibilities will include supporting daily QC laboratory operations and developing your technical expertise:
* Collecting samples for testing.
* Performing basic physical and analytical testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
* Calibrating laboratory equipment.
* Preparing laboratory solutions and reagents.
* Maintaining glassware and laboratory cleanliness.
* Assisting in stock control and inventory management.
* Recording data accurately and in compliance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
You will be mentored by experienced QC professionals, gaining real-world experience in a regulated pharmaceutical setting.
Education & Experience
This apprenticeship programme is open to a wide range of applicants, including:
* School leavers (Leaving Certificate).
* Level 5 or Level 6 graduates with relevant experience looking to upskill or retrain in a laboratory environment.
* Mature students or individuals returning to the workforce.
* Those seeking to upskill or reskill into the laboratory or life sciences discipline.
Minimum Academic Entry:
* A pass (Grade O6 or better) in five Leaving Certificate subjects, including Maths and a Science subject, or;
* A relevant FETAC Level 5 or Level 6 qualification.
* Academic requirement does not apply to applicants over the age of 23. All candidates must follow SOLAS and Chanelle Pharma recruitment procedures.
