About Technical Operations
BioMarin’s Technical Operations group is responsible for creating our drugs for use in clinical trials and for scaling production of those drugs for the commercial market. These engineers, technicians, scientists and support staff build and maintain BioMarin’s manufacturing processes and sites, provide quality assurance and quality control to meet regulatory standards, and procure the needed goods and services to support manufacturing and distribution.
Supply Chain Operations Biotechnician - Ringaskiddy, Cork
12 Month Contract
2 Shift Cycle - Monday to Friday 06.30- 14.30 and 14.30- 22.30 Alternate Weeks
Closing date: Thursday 26th June
Reporting to the Supply Chain Operations Manager and Lead, the Biotechnician will handle warehouse operations, including receiving, shipping, weighing, and dispensing, ensuring all functional areas are supported.
This role requires flexibility with work schedules and shift work, and the ability to work at heights.
The team emphasizes safety, quality, continuous improvement, teamwork, and personal development, supporting Drug Substance manufacturing, Packaging, and Fill Finish operations at the Shanbally facility.
The role demands customer and patient focus, adaptability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The Biotechnician must work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Prioritize safety, hygiene, environmental standards, cold chain management, and GMP/GDP compliance.
* Manage warehouse activities: receiving, 3PL management, inventory, and shipping support.
* Sample and dispense raw materials, follow SOPs, monitor alarms, respond to equipment issues, and manage inventory using SAP ERP.
* Participate in audits, create and update SOPs, record quality data, and collaborate across functions to ensure operational efficiency.
* Provide high-quality service to internal and external customers, ensuring SLAs are met.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
* At least 2 years' experience in Pharma, Biotech, or Medical Devices.
* GDP and GMP experience preferred.
* Experience working in a fast-paced team environment is essential.
* Must be proactive, quality-focused, and possess strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
