You will be responsible for the accurate accounting, monitoring, and reporting of inventory in line with company policies and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).You will project-manage the reconciliation work and process re-engineering required to establish our ERP inventory data as the single source of truth across the business. This is an exciting opportunity to shape how inventory accounting is managed across the business. The Inventory Accountant will play a central role in building robust inventory accounting processes, strengthening financial controls, and delivering high-quality insights to support business decision-making.Key Responsibilities:Own the end-to-end inventory accounting processPrepare Monthly reconciliations of 3rd party providers' ZAGG-owned inventory to our system records, investigate and resolve discrepanciesOrganise and oversee quarterly physical inventory counts at our 3rd party providersWork with US counterparts to implement add-on within the ERP system to value stock items at landed costs.Prepare the monthly inventory reserve calculation in line with company's policies and procedures for review by Managing-and Finance DirectorsPrepare and analyse inventory reports to identify trends, excess stock, and potential obsolescence, recommending actions to optimize inventory levelsWork closely with the Planning department to monitor incoming inventory and ensure accurate classification and valuationCoordinate with the Planning and Operation Teams on any changes in processes or new warehouse locationsImplement and maintain internal controls over inventory to prevent loss and ensure the integrity of stock and accounting records.Identify opportunities to improve controls, efficiency, and data integrity across inventory processesSupport system upgrades or implementations related to inventory or financeAbility to work independently in a newly created role and build processes from the ground upCoordinate with external auditors during audits by providing all necessary support, workings and explanationsEnsure all files relating to inventory are maintained to a high standardContribute to the structure, growth and efficiency of the accounts teamEnsure all process documents are kept up-to-date and relevantParticipate in cross-training to ensure adequate coverage within the teamAd hoc-Projects and additional duties as requiredPlease note that areas of responsibility may vary, change and/or develop dependent on the business requirements.Required Qualifications:Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CPA, CIMA)3+ years' experience in inventory, cost, or management accounting (industry experience preferred)Strong understanding of inventory accounting and cost accounting principles.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detailExcellent organisational skills and attention to detail is essential in this roleExcellent computer skills, in particular Microsoft Excel, Word, and OutlookStrong communication skills both written and verbalKnowledge of Great Plains (advantageous)Proven experience working in project work, data analysis and creation of process improvement initiativesExperience of working to tight deadlines and managing key finance deliverablesA competitive remuneration and benefits package is on offer.
