The ideal applicant for this role will be ambitious with a strong desire to progress into future leadership positions. Experience in a leadership position is essential. The Warehouse Supervisor plays a key role in the day-to-day leadership and coordination of warehouse operations within the distribution centre. This position ensures the safe, efficient, and accurate handling of stock while driving timely order fulfilment. By leading the warehouse team and maintaining high operational standards, the Supervisor supports the achievement of performance targets and wider business objectives.Key Responsibilities:Team LeadershipLead, coach, and motivate a team of warehouse operatives to achieve productivity, quality, and accuracy targets.Promote a positive, accountable, and safety-focused working environment.Operational DeliveryPlan, organise, and oversee daily warehouse activities including goods-in, picking, packing, dispatch, and inventory control.Ensure resources are deployed effectively to meet volume and service requirements.Health & SafetyEnforce all health, safety, hygiene, and housekeeping standards.Ensure compliance with SOPs and safe working practices at all times.Performance ManagementMonitor key performance indicators such as pick rates, lines per man-day, order accuracy, and on-time dispatch.Identify performance gaps and implement corrective actions.Training & DevelopmentDeliver on-the-job training and coaching to ensure team competency.Support employee development and progression within the warehouse function.Inventory ControlMaintain accurate stock records through effective control processes.Investigate discrepancies and support stock takes and cycle counts.Cross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with warehouse management, transport, and customer service teams to ensure seamless operational flow.Continuous ImprovementProactively identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.Essential Experience & SkillsMinimum of 3 years' experience in a warehouse or logistics supervisory role, ideally within a high-volume distribution environment.Strong people leadership skills with a hands-on, results-driven approach.Solid understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, and health & safety compliance.Proven ability to analyse performance data and manage KPIs.Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills.Competent user of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office.Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to perform in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Forklift licence desirable but not essential.
