Overview
As Planning Team Lead, you will lead a high-performing team of planning professionals to deliver high-quality planning advice and services for a variety of projects. You will oversee planning applications, environmental assessments, stakeholder engagement, and compliance processes, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest professional standards.
Responsibilities
* Lead, mentor, and develop a team of planners, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
* Oversee resource allocation, workload planning, and project prioritisation within the planning team.
* Provide technical oversight and quality assurance on all planning deliverables.
Project Delivery
* Manage the preparation and submission of planning applications, EIAs, and related documentation.
* Oversee planning input into renewable energy, infrastructure, and development projects from feasibility to consent stages.
* Liaise with local authorities, statutory bodies, and stakeholders to facilitate project approvals.
Strategic Contribution
* Support business development by contributing to bids, tenders, and proposals.
* Monitor changes in planning legislation and policy to ensure compliance and provide strategic advice.
* Contribute to company-wide initiatives on sustainability, innovation, and operational improvement.
Skills & Qualifications
* Relevant degree in Town Planning, Environmental Planning, or a related discipline.
* Chartered membership of the Irish Planning Institute (IPI) or equivalent.
* Minimum 7 years’ professional planning experience, including team management.
* Strong understanding of Irish planning legislation, policy, and environmental assessment processes.
* Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Experience working on renewable energy, infrastructure, or environmental projects.
* Experience across both urban and rural planning contexts.
* Familiarity with cross-border planning considerations in Ireland/UK.
