This role is central to cultivating successful partnerships and securing future business through strategic engagement with key stakeholders including national rail and transport bodies.As Rail Strategy Lead, you will lead efforts to shape the business's strategic positioning for upcoming rail infrastructure opportunities. The role involves proactive client engagement, market intelligence gathering, and leveraging technical insight to contribute to winning proposals and sustainable growth.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and nurture strategic relationships with major clients and stakeholders to identify business challenges and co-create effective solutions.Conduct ongoing market and competitor analysis to stay ahead of industry trends and inform business strategy.Support and execute client engagement strategies aimed at enhancing the organisation's position in future procurement processes.Apply technical acumen to influence and contribute to tender submissions, ensuring high-quality and competitive proposals.Champion continuous improvement of the company's market presence and strategic identity through targeted research and capability development.Note: This role involves regular travel to client and project sites across Ireland in addition to flexible home-working arrangements. It is a full-time position based on a 35-hour work week.Experience & SkillsProven experience in developing senior-level customer relationships to support strategic business development.Strong track record of leading business development efforts, managing opportunity pipelines, and crafting commercial strategies.Deep understanding of the Irish rail sector and experience with large-scale infrastructure projects.Technical knowledge across various rail systems such as signalling, telecoms, civils, E&P, ETCS/TMS, OLE/electrification, and track.Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.Proficiency in project management and customer relationship software tools.QualificationsDegree in Engineering (Chartered status preferred).In-depth technical knowledge of rail systems and infrastructure.Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and influencing skillsWe are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity in our company.
