Therapeutic Care Practitioner
This role offers a unique opportunity to work with a new service in Laois, delivering trauma-informed care for young people aged 13-17.
The team fosters positive attachments through relationship building, aiming to provide a therapeutic environment.
The successful candidate will work alongside experienced professionals to deliver holistic, trauma-informed care to the young people, promoting their physical, emotional, social, and religious well-being.
* Develop and implement comprehensive care plans, ensuring accurate recording and collaboration with stakeholders.
* Promote the rights and responsibilities of each child/young person within the Service, ensuring dignity and respect are upheld.
* Encourage attendance at school, training centers, medical appointments, and other essential activities that support their development.
* Liaise with parents, families, services, and agencies on behalf of the young person, fostering open communication and cooperation.
* Attend meetings related to the care and development of the young person, ensuring their voice is heard and valued.
* Engage in age-appropriate play and activities with each child/young person, promoting their emotional and social growth.
* Promote participation in decision-making on issues affecting their lives, empowering them to take control of their future.
* Prepare meals in conjunction with the young people and manage household tasks, promoting independence and life skills.
* Contribute to team meetings and report to the leader/manager on matters affecting service delivery, providing valuable insights and recommendations.
* Maintain accurate records and reports on the progress of each young person, informing future care decisions.
Requirements:
* Be registered with the relevant professional register or hold a recognized qualification and be eligible for registration.
* Meet the requisite knowledge and ability for proper discharge of duties, demonstrating a commitment to delivering high-quality care.
