MEP BIM Technician Position
This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic engineering consultancy, specializing in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical devices, and healthcare sectors.
The role can be based in Cork or Dublin, allowing for a versatile work environment. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in modeling mechanical and electrical systems within a consulting engineering office or building contractor.
A key responsibility will be working with BIM authoring software, Revit, Navisworks, and CAD 3D. Additionally, the successful candidate will possess knowledge of layering, x-refs, paper space, and model space conventions.
The team works on various projects, including data centers, process pharmaceuticals, commercial, and educational facilities. Experience with these types of projects is desirable but not essential.
The position involves collaborating with senior engineering staff, providing support via deliverables such as drawings and schedules, and preparing drawings from scratch when necessary.
Other responsibilities include taking ownership of discrete areas of system coordination, distributing and processing CAD team workflows, and liaising with internal teams and external clients regarding drawing modifications.
The role also requires document control and filing, as well as producing or assisting in producing CAD briefing documents and sending required information to other offices.
Requirements
* Minimum 2 years' experience in modeling mechanical and electrical systems within a consulting engineering office or building contractor.
* Proficient in BIM authoring software, specifically Revit, Navisworks, and CAD 3D.
* Knowledge of CAD, including layering, x-refs, paper space, and model space conventions.
* Solid understanding of MS Office, including Word, Excel, etc., and ability to use IT-based calculation and spreadsheet software.
* Strong organizational skills, prioritizing workload, meeting deadlines, and maintaining attention to detail.
* Background in consulting or construction preferred, with a good understanding of international working and business operations.
