Applications are invited for the position of Location Manager, Slane Quarry. The successful candidate will report to the Regional Operations Manager, NE Region, Roadstone Ltd.
The candidate should ideally possess:
* A relevant academic background with 5+ years’ experience in quarrying industry.
* A practical understanding of quarry operations including stone, blacktop, concrete and block production.
* Excellent analytical ability, organised and results driven.
* Proactive approach to safety management.
* Proven people management skills and leadership qualities.
* An ability to influence at all levels to achieve the best outcome for the organisation.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The candidate will have the following specific responsibilities:
* Ensure Health & Safety policies/procedures are implemented in compliance with legal and statutory requirements and with relevant company policies, while driving continuous improvements in the Health & Safety culture.
* Ensure compliance with operating requirements in accordance with EPA, Local Authority and Company policies.
* Deliver Operational Excellence against agreed Key Performance Indicators.
* Maintain relations with near neighbours, ensuring that the Company and Group image is maintained and enhanced.
* Effectively manage all members of the quarry team in line with HR best practice and the established company union agreements and any I.R. issues.
* Propose suitable learning opportunities and ensure that approved training programmes are carried out.
* Preparation and implementation of the quarry development plans.
* Active management of mobile plant efficiency using daily and weekly metrics.
* Liaise with Roadstone Planning Department in relation to preparation of planning applications. Actively involved with planning consultants and prepare Environmental Impact Statements.
* Production of the annual quarry budget and management of quarry costs.
* Management of quarry sub-contractors.
* Identify opportunities to improve and develop the quarry and duly deliver the company sustainability targets.
* Optimise transport/haulage efficiency whilst driving best in class customer service.
* Propose, prepare, and implement any CX projects which are approved.
* Increase co-operation with other CRH companies and incorporate their “Best Practices”
* Work closely with other production centres in Roadstone.
