With a well-established and successful presence in Ireland, the company is now making a strategic investment in the next phase of its technology growth by launching a Software Development Centre of Excellence in Limerick. This new centre will be a critical part of the organisation's long‑term engineering and delivery strategy, supporting the development and evolution of core platforms used by enterprise customers globally.
Senior hires will play a pivotal role in shaping this centre from the ground up — defining engineering standards, influencing architecture and delivery models, building high‑performing teams, and embedding a strong culture of technical excellence. This role is ideal for an Engineering Manager who is passionate about building high‑performing teams, embedding modern engineering practices, and delivering high‑quality software at scale.
You will lead a talented group of engineers working on a flagship enterprise application, guiding them to improve how solutions are designed, built, tested, and released. You'll operate in a highly collaborative environment, working closely with Product, Operations, and other business stakeholders to ensure consistent delivery of value to customers.
Responsibilities
* Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of autonomy, learning, and continuous improvement
* Drive delivery excellence, ensuring software is delivered reliably and predictably
* Use metrics and data to assess performance and continuously refine engineering practices
* Embed Lean principles and modern engineering approaches, including:
* CI/CD and automation
* Test-first and test automation practices
* Short feedback loops and incremental delivery
* Partner closely with Product, Operations, and commercial teams to enable seamless delivery and alignment on priorities
* Contribute to architectural and design discussions, ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable, and performant
* Encourage experimentation and innovation, empowering teams to solve problems creatively
* Influence the wider engineering strategy and help shape future technology platforms and delivery models
Requirements
* Proven experience leading and coaching software engineering teams
* Strong understanding of modern software delivery practices, including CI/CD, test automation, and continuous improvement
* Solid technical background, with the ability to engage in architectural and technical decision-making (hands‑on coding not required day‑to‑day)
* Experience working with .NET / ASP.NET or similar enterprise‑grade platforms
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
* Passion for building great teams, great products, and delivering measurable business outcomes
* A mindset rooted in Lean thinking, flow optimisation, and data‑driven decision‑making
* Experience delivering software in enterprise or customer‑hosted environments
* Familiarity with engineering performance metrics such as DORA
* Exposure to platform evolution toward hybrid or cloud‑based architectures
* Contributions to engineering communities, open‑source projects, or internal capability‑building initiatives
