Site Engineer - Civils
Location: Galway
We are currently seeking a Site Engineer for a leading civils contractor working on a road project in Galway.
Responsibilities of the role include:
* Assist in the preparation of site plans and project schedules.
* Oversee construction activities to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and safety standards.
* Conduct inspections and tests to ensure the quality of materials and workmanship.
* Monitor and manage materials, equipment, and labour on-site.
* Maintain accurate records of site activities, including daily logs, reports, and progress updates.
* Identify and resolve any site-related issues promptly to minimize delays.
* Ensure all safety regulations are followed and promote a safe working environment.
* Assist in tracking project costs and ensuring adherence to budget constraints.
* Provide technical advice and support to site workers and other stakeholders.
Qualifications, skills & experience:
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Site Engineer role working on construction/civil engineering projects.
* Relevant engineering or construction management qualification
* An ability to achieve demanding time and quality targets.
* Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and technology.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
* Ability to identify issues and propose effective solutions quickly.
