Maintenance Operative Job Description
About The Job:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Operative to join our hotel team in Cork City. This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, with working hours primarily Monday - Friday.
As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the hotel's facilities and equipment are properly maintained and repaired. You will work closely with other departments to identify and address any maintenance issues that may arise.
Responsibilities:
* Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, repairing and replacing equipment and fixtures.
* Identify and report any maintenance issues or defects to the appropriate person.
* Liaise with outside contractors to ensure all maintenance issues are rectified promptly.
* Ensure an efficient planned prevention maintenance system is in place for all key equipment.
* Monitor and control costs in all areas, including energy-saving initiatives.
* Carry out regular hotel inspections to identify maintenance requirements.
* Ensure all maintenance contracts are up-to-date and servicing of equipment takes place as agreed.
* Ensure guest safety by eliminating potential risks and hazards.
* Check and replace used fire extinguishers immediately.
* Ensure all health, safety and fire regulations are adhered to.
* Plan and implement departmental training.
* Assist in the recruitment, selection, training and appraising of maintenance team members.
* Attend daily, weekly operation meetings and any other meetings as required.
* Ensure successful pre-opening and opening of hotel.
Requirements:
To be considered for this role, you should have at least one year's experience at Maintenance Assistant level. Trade qualification/experience (e.g., electrical/plumbing) is strongly advantageous.

* Ability to prioritize and work on several projects simultaneously.
