Senior Quantity Surveyor (Head of Commercial) — pathway to Commercial Director | Confidential Main Contractor
€90k–€120k + Bonus | Health | Pension | Greater Dublin/Leinster | 4 days office / 1 day WFH
A leading contractor is growing—and we’re looking for a Head of Commercial to build a modern, data-driven commercial function and lead a tight team (1 Senior QS + 2 Juniors). If you turn CVRs into real-time insight, close final accounts without surprises, and influence bid strategy at board level, we’d like to hear from you.
Your first 6 months
* Lead the commercial team: contract reviews, subcontractor appointments & payments, cashflows, and CVR with live reporting
* Produce robust BoQs (incl. civils/siteworks) and align monthly with the client QS
* Partner with Bidding/Estimating to link live data to smarter bids
Then scale up
* Step into Head of Commercial (post-review), owning process, people, and tools
* Drive cost efficiencies and data-driven decisions; sit on Bid/No-Bid
* After 12 months, progress to Commercial Director (board seat) based on delivery
What you’ll bring
* BSc in QS/Commercial Management; chartership (MRICS/MSCSI/SCSI) a strong plus
* 10–15+ years post‑grad QS/commercial experience in main contracting or D&B
* Deep knowledge of Irish PWC/GCCC and RIAI (FIDIC/NEC a plus)
* Evidence of owning claims/EoT/loss & expense through to final account
* Ability to implement CVR/cashflow/change control from the ground up
* Advanced Excel + familiarity with COINS/Causeway/BuildSoft/Sage and Power BI
* Irish experience—advantageous | Modular/off-site—advantageous (not required)
