Overview
The Development Scientist II for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for preparing and planning studies for the development, evolution and optimization of in-vitro diagnostic assays. This position is part of the R&D department located in Lismeehan, O'Callaghan's Mills, Co. Clare, Ireland. You will be part of the Development Science team and report to the Manager, Development Science who is responsible for managing R&D product development teams and for setting project goals and milestones in line with the corporation's objectives. Responsibilities
* Follow standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained
* Participate in the analysis, design and development of system applications
* Participate in simple process improvement projects
* Report status of experiments to supervisor, write simple experimental reports/protocols with supervision, and present small data
* Train new Development Scientists on instrument setup/maintenance and department processes
* Provide quality assurance for adherence to technical standards
Qualifications
* The essential requirements of the job include: BSc (Level 8) or equivalent with a minimum 2 years relevant experience, or MSc (Level 9) or equivalent with 0-2 years relevant experience
Nice to have
* Experience in a GLP/GMP laboratory environment
* Knowledge of analytes, reaction mechanisms and performance claims
* Experience in training/mentoring junior team members
