This role ensures technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and seamless collaboration with Transmission System Operators (TSOs). The successful candidate will provide expert leadership in design and commissioning and possess strong knowledge of EU grid codes and legislation.Role And ResponsibilitiesLead and review the design of high-voltage substations and offsite electrical distribution systems.Ensure compliance with EU grid codes and national transmission operator requirements.Provide technical oversight and guidance to specialist Design & Build contractors.Conduct and validate detailed power system studies, including:Load flow analysisShort circuit analysisHarmonic analysisTransient stability studiesDynamic and static modellingDevelop and implement active/reactive power control strategies.Oversee the detailed design, construction, and commissioning phases of power infrastructure projects.Interface directly with TSOs and regulatory bodies to ensure grid code compliance.Support project teams with technical documentation, risk assessments, and design reviews.Stay current with evolving EU legislation and standards related to power systems.Qualifications & Experience:First and foremost, you share our passion for improving the quality of life. You are a technically capable and come to us with:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related fieldMinimum of 10 years' experience in:High-voltage (HV/MV) substation designOffsite power distribution systemsPower quality and control systemsGrid integration and complianceProven expertise in:Detailed electrical design and engineeringConstruction and commissioning of power systemsWorking with TSOs and regulatory authoritiesStrong working knowledge of:EU grid codes and compliance processesPower system modelling tools (e.g., DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD, ETAP)Active/reactive power control and power quality standardsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Ability to lead technical discussions and resolve complex engineering challenges.Preferred AttributesChartered Engineer status or equivalent professional accreditation.Experience in renewable energy integration and hybrid power systems.Familiarity with digital substations and IEC 61850 standards.Multinational project experience across the EU.Our Commitment to Equality, Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging:We want you to be able to bring your best self to work every day which is why we take equality and inclusion seriously and hold ourselves to account for our actions.
