Job Opportunity: EHSQ Professional
The position of EHSQ Professional is pivotal in upholding the highest standards of safety, health, environmental, and quality within an organization. This entails implementing and overseeing all aspects of EHSQ policies, conducting site inspections, and ensuring adherence to legal requirements and organizational standards.
This role demands a proactive approach to risk management and a commitment to creating a secure working environment for all personnel and subcontractors.
Responsibilities include:
* Maintaining the organization's high EHSQ standards
* Ensuring ongoing development and implementation of improved EHSQ practices, policies, and procedures
* Remaining abreast of new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all applicable laws
* Actively participating in the promotion of health-related risks and on-site training
* Promoting employee awareness/training for EHSQ and a proactive EHSQ approach/attitude among all personnel
* Preparing and updating all organizational EHSQ procedures, policies, safety statements, etc.
* Ensuring all staff are aware of all organizational policies and procedures
* Distributing all organizational related EHSQ procedures and policies
* Preparing training plans, procuring, and arranging EHSQ training for all staff
* Managing safety officers and allocating them to live sites
* Ensuring subcontractor compliance with EHSQ legislation on site
* Carrying out accident and incident investigations, as necessary
* Responsible for preparing all accident and incident reports
* Maintaining and updating accident and incident statistics
* Liaising with insurance providers regarding any claims, including personal injury claims
* Preparing EHSQ plans for all projects
* Liaising with statutory bodies (including the Health and Safety Authority) in relation to EHSQ matters
* Implementing and auditing ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007 standards
* Maintaining and implementing 'SafeTcert' accreditation
* Carrying out site safety audits and inspections
* Providing assistance and guidance to employed safety officers
* Ensuring the organization's activities are addressed in all EHSQ documents and procedures
* Addressing any EHSQ non-conformances and continually proposing improvements to standards
* Reporting to senior management on any EHSQ-related issues
* Ordering and maintaining a stock of safety supplies
* Liaising with and assisting the marketing department in promoting safety via various social media outlets
* Assisting with tenders, pre-qualifications, etc.
* Preparing presentations for tendering processes and potential client meetings
* Managing safety campaigns, i.e., Safety Week
* Chairing regular Safety Meetings with the safety team
