This is an opportunity for a Manager to join PwC's dynamic and growing Tax Risk & Controversy team.
As a Manager in the Tax Risk & Controversy team, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive experience, helping our clients navigate through Revenue interventions and, more broadly, manage their tax risk.
This is an emerging and dynamic area within Tax, making it an exciting time to get involved.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for tax professionals to pivot into a high-growth specialism and broaden their expertise across Tax Risk & Controversy.
We are committed to your development and will provide dedicated time and resources for upskilling across all areas of Tax Risk & Controversy ensuring you succeed.
Key Responsibilities
Managing the Revenue intervention process and liaising with Revenue throughout same
Carrying out pre-audit testing and reviews across various tax heads to identify areas for disclosure to Revenue
Assisting in the preparation of Qualifying Disclosures
Engaging with Revenue to agree an appropriate tax settlement and the application of interest and penalties on same
Advising clients on their rights, Revenue powers and strategy in managing Revenue interventions
Supporting clients entering and engaging with Revenue through its Co-Operative Compliance Framework
Carrying out assessments of clients' tax controls and supporting them in developing governance materials such as a Tax Control Framework
General Responsibilities
Coach team members and drive the team to make a difference and deliver results in a responsible, authentic and passionate manner
Have an active role in training our junior and senior staff members promoting a learning culture
Bring business knowledge, innovation and insight to create value for clients and the firm
Embrace the digital transformation being undertaken in our business and be motivated to familiarise yourself with these evolutions and to drive these technologies further in our day-to-day business and that of our clients
Set the tone in promoting risk management and compliance procedures
Operate and collaborate effectively with a mindset that transcends geographic and cultural boundaries
Work on attracting, developing and retaining the best talents for the firm
Directing and driving the success of multiple engagements
Be responsible for managing within budgetary and time constraints while providing a high-level of client satisfaction

Qualifications and Experience
• Manager 3+ years of experience required, working in the Revenue Commissioners, a Big 4 firm / mid-tier practice or similar
• Ideally the candidate should have experience of Revenue audits / tax controls / controls testing but this is not a prerequisite
• Indirect tax experience is a plus
• Tax, legal Accountancy qualification (or qualified by experience) with a strong academic record
