The Post-Registration Children's Nursing Programme is a one‑year fixed programme that leads to registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland as a Registered Children's Nurse. It is offered across CHI by three clinical/academic partnerships:
• CHI at Crumlin and University College Dublin
• CHI at Temple Street and Dublin City University
• CHI at Tallaght and Trinity College Dublin.
Note: The new Children's hospital is expected to open in 2026. The post‑holder will be an employee of the respective partner hospital for the duration of the programme and may be required to undertake clinical placement within another CHI site. The post‑holder will receive a salary and incremental credit on the staff nurse scale, and a 100% attendance record is required.
Essential Criteria
* Registered with the NMBI as RGN/RPN/RNID
* At least 6 months of relevant post‑registered nursing experience within the last 2 years
English Language Requirements by University
* UCD: If English is not your native language, you must satisfy the English language requirements of the university to be eligible to apply. Please refer to the university policy at minimum English language requirements.
* TCD: Applicants whose first language is not English or who have not been educated through the medium of English must have successfully completed the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) assessment within the previous two years.
* DCU: International candidates are expected to have educational qualifications equivalent to the above. Non‑native speakers must satisfy the university's competency in English.
