Job Description
The Mechanical Floor Supervisor will report to the Business Unit Manager and ensure that their team delivers its weekly allocated work safely, with flawless quality, while also meeting the productivity output required from each member of the team.
In this role, you will develop trusted relationships with clients and become the King and Moffatt contact recognized by clients' Project Managers and representatives.
Main Duties
1. Model safe behavior and insist on adherence to all safety requirements by all K&M personnel on site.
2. Work with the Business Unit Manager & Contracts Manager to understand hours available for each section of work and communicate this to the applicable team.
3. Ensure teams work productively and seek continuous improvement.
4. Coordinate with colleagues in the same area to ensure safe and productive work processes.
5. Oversee and sign off on SPAs and related documentation to ensure team safety and productivity.
6. Assist with ordering project materials and follow up to ensure timely delivery.
7. Ensure delivery ledgers are completed before items leave the off-site facility.
8. Maintain onsite safety and compliance with EHSQ requirements, including toolbox talks, RAMS, PPE, and permits.
9. Ensure all relevant permits are obtained.
10. Complete weekly reports for the Business Unit Manager.
11. Monitor daily labor tracking sheets.
12. Ensure work outside your scope does not proceed without written instruction.
13. Oversee the completion and signoff of all works carried out.
14. Coordinate with test and Handover/Quality teams to close out and sign off completed works.
15. Identify training needs for team members and ensure attendance.
16. Work with client personnel to maintain good relationships and promote repeat business.
Qualifications
1. Experience supervising a busy engineering or manufacturing floor.
2. Strong mechanical background with leadership skills.
3. People management experience.
4. Ability to interpret and communicate information from drawings.
5. Problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively.
6. Excellent communication skills.
7. Proficiency in computer use and strong interpersonal skills.
