Energy Senior Manager Bus Eireann Bus ireann is seeking a passionate, dedicated and experienced Senior Manager, to lead the organisations energy strategy and play a key role in driving greater efficiency, advancing renewable energy initiatives, and ensuring full compliance with all energy and fuel-related legislation.
This is a high-impact role that combines strategic planning with operational delivery across Bus ireanns nationwide operations.
The successful candidate will oversee the development and implementation of energy management systems, renewable energy projects, and efficiency programmes across our fleet and facilities.
Working collaboratively with senior stakeholders, government agencies, and technical teams, you will help shape Bus ireanns transition to a low-carbon future while maintaining reliability, affordability, and excellence in service delivery.
The ideal candidate will hold a Level 8 qualification in engineering, energy, or environmental management and bring substantial experience in energy management and sustainability.
You will demonstrate strong technical expertise, strategic insight, and leadership capability to deliver measurable progress toward Bus ireanns decarbonisation and energy performance goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Drivebestpracticeinenergyefficiencyandfueltransitionacross Busireann,continually seeking opportunities to reduce emissions and deliver cost savings.
Leadthetransitionawayfromfossilfuelsbycollaboratingwithkeyfuelandenergysystem suppliers to adopt renewable and low-carbon energy sources.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure full compliance with energy legislationandpublicsectorobligations,includingthe Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation (RTFO).
Represent Busireanninengagementwiththe SEAI, NTA, Governmentdepartments, agencies, and the CIE Group on energy and fuel transition matters.
Prepare and maintain Bus ireanns Energy Efficiency Action Plan, aligning it with the organisations Sustainability Strategyandensuringregularupdatestothe SEAIPSMRportal.
Review and enhance the companys Energy Policy and energy awareness communications to foster continuous improvement and employee engagement.
Contribute to the ongoing development and implementation of Bus ireanns Sustainability Strategy Driving Change.
Leadthe Energy Teamtoachieveandmaintain ISO50001certificationfor Busireann facilities and operations.
Collaboratewith Enprovaandotherpartnerstosecurefundingforenergyefficiencyprojects under the Energy Efficiency Obligation Scheme (EEOS).
Oversee and support key decarbonisation projects, including energy metering, fuel management systems, alternative fuel transitions, building retrofits, and fleet telematics initiatives KEY SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE A Level 8 qualification in engineering, energy, or environmental management.
Demonstratedexperienceinenergymanagement,withaprovenabilitytodelivermeasurable improvements in energy performance and sustainability outcomes.
Comprehensiveunderstandingofenergyandfuellegislation,regulatorycompliance,and public-sector obligations.
Strongknowledgeofemergingindustrydevelopments,renewableandsustainablefuels,and corporate sustainability strategies.
Provenabilitytolead,manage,anddevelopahigh-performingteam,fosteringcollaboration, professional growth, and excellence in delivery.
Excellentanalytical,problem-solving,andprojectmanagementskills,withtheabilityto translate strategic objectives into actionable initiatives.
Strongcommunicationandpresentationskills,withthecapabilitytoinfluencedecision-making at senior levels.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant energy management and reporting systems Desirable Apostgraduatequalificationinarelateddiscipline.
Experiencewith ISO50001implementationorcertificationand/or Energy Efficiency Obligation Scheme (EEOS) projects.
Familiarity with public-sector sustainability reporting and SEAI PSMR requirements.
