Your future role
You’ll work alongside collaborative and driven teammates, playing a pivotal role in managing a significant project in Cork. Your day‑to‑day responsibilities include optimising project margins while safeguarding against commercial risks and maintaining high standards in alignment with Alstom Policies and Procedures. You’ll work closely with teams across the business (Installation, Construction, and Design & Build), support the Commercial Manager and Lead Project Manager, and contribute to the successful delivery of a large‑scale project.
Responsibilities
* Apply expertise in construction industry standard forms of contract and commercial terms
* Quantify and cost construction works, including task elemental cost analysis
* Demonstrate strong multi‑discipline Design & Build (D&B) experience in a contractor environment
* Support conflict avoidance, management, and dispute resolution procedures
* Employ planning and programme management for construction works
* Understand and apply accounting concepts, including preparation of management and company accounts
* Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Sustainability standards in the industry
* Leverage your professional qualification with a Quantity Surveying‑related organisation (ideal chartered status)
* Bring experience from Rail, Construction, or Civil Engineering backgrounds
* Contribute to a collaborative and inclusive team environment valuing leadership, resilience, adaptability, and continuous learning
Qualifications
* Professional Qualification with a Quantity Surveying‑related organisation
* Experience or understanding of Rail, Construction, or Civil Engineering projects, particularly managing large‑scale, multi‑discipline Design & Build projects
* Knowledge of construction industry standard forms of contract and commercial terms
* Familiarity with quantification, costing of construction works, and task elemental cost analysis
* Experience with conflict avoidance, management, and dispute resolution procedures
* Planning and use of programmes in the management of construction works
* Understanding of accounting concepts and preparation of management and company accounts
* Awareness of Health, Safety and Sustainability matters relevant to the construction industry
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders
