We are recruiting a Livestock Payments Officer to join our team in ABP Clones. The successful candidate will be based in ABP Clones, Teehill, Clones, Co Monaghan, on a full time contract. Flexibility with working pattern is required in relation to this role, with some evening work required.
Job Description
The Livestock Payments Officer is responsible for managing, processing, and reconciling all financial transactions related to livestock procurement. This role ensures accuracy, efficiency, and transparency in payment processes, supporting smooth operations across the livestock supply chain. The Livestock Payments Officer will work closely with Livestock Procurement and Finance team to maintain strong relationships with farmers, agents, and buyers.
The Livestock Payments Officer will report directly to the Site Financial Controller.
Key Responsibilities
Process and reconcile payments for livestock purchases, and related services
Ensure timely settlement of accounts with farmers, agents, and transport providers.
Maintain accurate records of livestock transactions and payments in company systems.
Prepare weekly and monthly reports on livestock payments.
Support audits and compliance checks by providing clear documentation.
Act as the main point of contact for payment queries from farmers and agents.
Build trust by ensuring fair and transparent payment practices.
Process and manage VAT forms for farmers, ensuring compliance with VAT regulations
Liaise with Lairage Supervisor and Procurement team regarding animal identification, grading and pricing
Identify opportunities to streamline payment processes and improve efficiency
Adhere to all relevant financial regulations and company procedures
Lead by example, upholding the company's values in all areas of work
Requirements
Previous office experience with at least 2 years' experience in a finance role desirable
Computer literate - Proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel is required
Proven competency in maintaining accurate and clear records
Strong knowledge of financial systems, payment processing and agricultural practices
Excellent organisational skills - ability to work to deadlines and under pressure essential
Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with farmers and agents
Friendly, professional, customer focused approach is essential
