The candidate will work for a Building and Civil Engineering Contractor who is well known throughout the industry for their high-quality standards on each project they work on. The client is expanding on their team and seeking an experienced Health & Safety Officer to manage health & safety activities on site, assist in emergency situations and conduct audits.It is important that the successful candidate has previously worked on a construction site in a Health & Safety position.Health & Safety Officer Responsibilities:Report into the Health & Safety Manager and Project ManagerVisit sites regularly conducting Site Inspections, Walks and AuditsProduce reports upon the site visitsEnsure Health and Safety policies are regularly updatedCheck that all site staff are adhering to Health & Safety regulations on siteEnsure good Health & Safety practices are continuously promoted and recognised throughout siteCommunicate regularly with Site Management regarding any health & safety requirementsImplement Method Statements, COSHH assessments, toolbox talks, O&M manuals etcConduct Health & Safety BriefingsAttend Site MeetingsSchedule training for staff and ensure records are updatedLiaise with Clients / Consultancies when necessaryProvide information to support pre-qualification requirements for various clientsSource and maintain PPE stocksAttend Health & Safety MeetingsHealth & Safety Officer Specification:Professional H&S Degree Qualification5 years’ experience on construction sitesProven track record within Industry on accident free sites.Experience with ISO 9001, 14001, 18001 and SafeT Cert is an advantage.Knowledge and experience in H&S Legislation, H&S Procedures in particular maintenance of company policies and procedures with a view to continually monitoring legislative updates and best practice guidelines.Previous experience with the drafting of tender documentation and prequalification’s a distinct advantage.Team-player with a positive attitude and highly developed interpersonal communication skills and cultural sensitivity.Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence personnel at all levels within an organisation.Excellent organisational skills are essential.Excellent demonstrated computer skills, including a proficiency in using common word software, spreadsheet software, database applications, project and presentation software, and email, contact management.This client appreciates the value of hard work, professional working practices and high standards and in return can offer an excellent overall package to the right person.For any more information on the role, please don’t hesitate to contact David Bridges on email david@inform3.com or phone 015 314 886 or 028 308 98 345.INFORM3 Recruitment is an equal opportunities employer.
