Job Title: Electrical InstructorLocation:Flexible within Ireland (occasional nationwide travel required)Working Model:Hybrid / Smart WorkingReports to:Generation & Trading Technical Capability Delivery ManagerAbout the RoleWe are seeking an experiencedElectrical Instructorto deliver high‑quality technical training within our Generation business. This role involves designing, delivering, and continuously improving training programs focused on electrical practices, plant operations, switching procedures, and electrical machinery.You will play a key role in maintaining and developing technical competence across operational and maintenance teams, ensuring alignment with industry best practices, ISO standards, Power Generation Technical Standards, and organisational SOPs.The role includes the completion of a structured, self‑driven technical development program to gain asset‑based experience across multiple generation stations.ResponsibilitiesDeliver specialist electrical and technical training to Generation personnel.Interpret complex technical documentation (P&IDs, SLDs, electrical drawings) and translate them into practical learning content.Modernise and enhance existing training materials and course structures.Provide expert advice using prior operations or maintenance experience.Collaborate with internal departments to gather and update technical content.Ensure training incorporates lessons learned from past incidents.Contribute to the development of policies, procedures, and training tools.Support generation operations/maintenance projects with technical input.Maintain high standards of quality, environmental compliance, and health & safety.Use the organisation's LMS (SuccessFactors) for training delivery and reporting.EssentialRelevant third‑level engineering qualification or electrical/instrumentation apprenticeship.Minimum 5 years' relevant experience.Strong background in troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, or instruction involving electrical machinery or systems.Experience with High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) systems.Strong presentation and communication skills.Proficient IT skills, including MS Office and PowerPoint.Full Category B driver's licence.Willingness to self-learn and continuously develop.DesirableExperience in training, heavy process industries, or similar sectors.Hands-on experience in:HV & LV distribution systemsMotors, generators, electrical machinesPLCs, automation & control systemsElectrical protection, earthing, testing & isolation proceduresProven record in designing and implementing training programs.Strong working knowledge of health & safety legislation.
