Overview
A leading care provider is seeking an experienced Person in Charge (Social Care Leader) to oversee residential services in Carlow. This is a key leadership position where you will ensure the highest standards of care and compliance are delivered to individuals using the service.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the service in line with Government and HSE policies.
* Ensure compliance with Department of Health regulations and HIQA standards.
* Act autonomously, using initiative to oversee quality, safety, and day-to-day operations.
* Foster a culture of respect, care, and excellence across the team.
* Service delivery: Lead shifts, oversee direct care, assess individual needs, and ensure care plans are delivered effectively.
* Training and development: Mentor and train new staff, support ongoing professional development.
* Compliance and documentation: Ensure accurate records and reports are maintained.
* Quality assurance: Drive quality improvement initiatives and conduct regular audits.
* Team leadership: Build a positive, collaborative, and supportive work environment.
Essential Criteria
* Minimum of 3 years management or supervisory experience in health or social care.
* Level 7+ professional degree in Applied Social Studies (or relevant qualification).
* Level 6 Management qualification.
* Proven experience managing a residential service to meet quality and regulatory requirements.
* Strong skills in report writing, personal support planning, roster and people management.
* Excellent working knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements.
* Full clean driving licence (eligible to drive in Ireland) and access to own vehicle.
* Excellent IT skills.
Desirable
Experience working with autism services is highly desirable.
