Overview
Responsible for assisting the head chef and sous chef to ensure that food preparation, production and service are carried out to the highest standards in accordance with food hygiene HACCP regulations.
Responsibilities
* To arrive promptly on duty as scheduled in a full, clean and presentable uniform, in line with company grooming policy.
* Maintain the highest level of personal and work cleanliness and hygiene; ensure compliance with HACCP requirements throughout all duties.
* Ensure the standard of uniform and personal hygiene is maintained in the kitchen at all times.
* Assist in ensuring that all food purchased meets the agreed standard.
* Assist in training staff to the agreed standard.
* Assist the Head Chef in preparing and compiling menus for daily business, functions, etc.
* Ensure all cleaning schedules are adhered to and hygiene is checked daily.
* Comply with company legislation regarding Fire, Health and Safety, Hygiene, Food Hygiene, Customer Care and Security.
* Monitor dishes prepared in the kitchen to ensure they conform to the agreed standard prior to food service.
* Carry out ordering duties as required.
* Comply with delivery intake of produce.
* Adhere to the company's Code of Conduct and regulations regarding fire, health and safety, hygiene, customer care and security.
* Read, understand and carry out responsibilities as defined in the Health and Safety Statement and Staff Handbook.
* Ensure work areas are kept clean, safe and tidy at all times.
* Report any maintenance issues immediately to management.
* All staff are required to participate in training and communication meetings as scheduled.
