Registered Nurse Prescriber Opportunity

We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Registered Nurse Prescriber to join our multidisciplinary team. As a key member, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to individuals with complex needs.

">

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to enriching the lives of our Service Users by planning and delivering nurse-led clinics and interventions. You will also prescribe and monitor medication for the management of complex mental health needs under the supervision of Consultant Psychiatrists.

">

Main Duties:

">
">

* Plan and deliver nurse-led clinics and interventions to individuals with complex needs.
">
* Presume and monitor medication for the management of complex mental health needs with supervision from Consultant Psychiatrists.
">
* Use prescriptive authority in a safe and effective manner in line with training, policy, and Practice Standards and Guidelines for Nurses and Midwives with Prescriptive Authority (4th Edition) (2019).
">

Main Responsibilities:

">
">
* Contribute to the assessment of specific complex mental health needs within the multidisciplinary team and refer to the Decision-making Framework for Nurse and Midwife Prescribing when prescribing.
">
* Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of policies and procedures, including adherence to Policy on Nurse Medicinal Product Prescribing.
">
* Have strong organizational/time management skills, able to manage competing and conflicting demands.
">
* Review, monitor, and evaluate medication treatment plans designed by the Psychiatry team.
">
* Review PRN protocols & mental health relapse plans/specific health management plans as required.
">
* Adhere to NMBI's Practice Standards and Guidelines for Nurses and Midwives with Prescriptive Authority (4th Edition).
">
* Be accountable for keeping up to date with advances in prescribing and clinical practice.
">
">

Qualifications:

">
">
* Registration in the Nurse Prescribers Division of the Nurses Register of Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.
">
">

Knowledge:

">
">
* Knowledge of standards and legislation relevant to the area.
">
">

Experience:

">
">
* Experience of nursing prescribing in an ID and/or MH service.
">
">

Skills:

">
">
* Problem-solving skills.
">
* Planning and decision-making skills.
">
* Effective verbal and written communication.
">
* Ability to work to deadlines under pressure.
">
* Ability to empathize with and understand the needs of others.
">
* Ability to work on own initiative.
">
* Reliability and flexibility.

* Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
">
* Ability to deliver nursing input at multidisciplinary team meeting(s), ensuring high quality care.
