Job Opportunity: Assistant Retail Manager
We are seeking an experienced retail professional to join our team as a Supermarket Assistant Manager. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and growing retail environment.
The successful candidate will have previous experience in a supermarket or convenience retail management role, with strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills. They will be commercially aware, with a focus on delivering sales and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the Store Manager in the day-to-day running of the store, ensuring smooth operations and high standards throughout
* Help lead the store team to deliver exceptional customer service and consistent in-store excellence
* Contribute to achieving sales, margin, and performance targets across all departments
* Assist in the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members
* Implement and maintain high standards in merchandising, cleanliness, stock control, and health & safety
* Handle cash management, shift planning, and problem-solving as needed
* Deliver strong communication and foster a positive, motivated team environment
* Take ownership in the absence of the Store Manager and help lead the team through the store's successful launch and ongoing growth
Requirements:
* Previous experience in a supermarket or convenience retail management role
* Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
* A hands-on, proactive approach with the ability to motivate and develop a new team
* Commercially aware with a focus on delivering KPIs and customer satisfaction
* Passion for retail and excited to be part of a new store opening
* Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends, during the store setup and launch phase
