About the role:
Reporting to the Information Security Architect, you will play a proactive role in managing and monitoring the organisation's Network & Security infrastructure. You will also assist with other security-related tasks such as vulnerability management and deployment of security solutions.
1. Research, evaluate, develop, and implement security solutions and standards following industry best practices.
2. Ensure that current and planned technical solutions align with the company's business needs and strategic objectives.
3. Operate the production environment security tools and services.
4. Collaborate with other teams to design, develop, and implement Enterprise Security solutions supporting development, testing, and production environments.
5. Provide technical security expertise and support to other IT and Business groups.
6. Conduct security audits and testing; evaluate system security configurations for efficacy and compliance with policies and procedures.
7. Support the information security operations team.
Role Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
* 10+ years of experience with security processes and solutions.
* Strong understanding of current security threats, techniques, and landscape, with a proactive approach to researching emerging threats.
* Deep knowledge of Firewalls / VPN Technologies.
* Conceptual and practical understanding of IT Infrastructure designs, technologies, products, and services, including applicable Information Security concepts.
* Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, etc.
* Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems.
* Strong understanding of Wireshark, Linux/UNIX, and Windows operating systems.
* Knowledge of system log forensics (Syslog, Event Viewer).
* Comprehensive knowledge of network security concepts and technologies, including:
o Building and maintaining network security devices for WAN, LAN, VPN, & WIFI
o Firewalls (Palo Alto, Cisco, Checkpoint)
o Network packet inspection and forensics
o Intrusion detection and prevention systems
o TCP/IP, routing, and switching protocols
o DNS, Internet policy enforcement, web content filtering
