About the Role
We are seeking a highly organised and customer‑focused
Airfreight Exports Operations Specialist
to join our Airfreight team. This role is responsible for the end‑to‑end management of export shipments, maintaining strong customer relationships, ensuring full regulatory compliance, and supporting operational excellence across all assigned accounts.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
* End‑to‑end ownership of export job files, including opening, rating, invoicing, and closing.
* Create and confirm transport orders in DCT for timely pickup and delivery.
* Manage export bookings and coordinate with carriers, suppliers, and overseas stations.
* Prepare, check, and distribute all required export documentation.
* Monitor shipments through to POD, ensuring customers receive timely updates.
Compliance & Quality
* Ensure strict adherence to Air Cargo Security, IATA DG, customer SOPs, and DGF operational procedures.
* Check Known Shipper status, complete security documentation, and maintain accurate job files.
* Support Good Distribution Practice (GDP) processes for Life Sciences shipments.
* Ensure compliance with revenue, customs, trade, data protection, and internal DHL policies.
Customer Service & Communication
* Build strong, open, long‑term customer relationships.
* Respond to network requests within 24 hours.
* Raise and manage customer complaints through GCCS, ensuring timely resolution.
* Support Customer Service with incident reporting and exception management.
Commercial & Financial Responsibilities
* Monitor DAP/DDP shipments, ensuring accurate billing and supplementary invoicing where required.
* Maintain accurate accruals and review SFAR reports weekly.
* Manage bulk and EDI invoicing, 3rd party billing, and COD processes.
* Ensure clean month‑end closing for assigned accounts.
Continuous Improvement
* Identify performance issues, raise operational irregularities, and support improvement initiatives.
* Participate in PDs, cross‑training, and training record maintenance.
* Support implementation of new operational processes and contribute to team development.

Qualifications & Experience
* Proven experience in airfreight export operations (required)
* Dangerous Goods certification (advantage)
* Envirotainer training (advantage)
* Logistics‑related qualification (desirable)
