Responsible to Head Chef and General Manager
As the second in command in our kitchen, you will work closely with the Head Chef to ensure the smooth, efficient, and high-quality operation of all kitchen activities. You will be a hands-on leader, responsible for food preparation, team management, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and hygiene.
* Kitchen Management: Supervise kitchen staff, manage daily operations, and ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and to high standards.
* Staff Training & Development: Train, mentor, and guide junior kitchen staff, ensuring they understand and adhere to cooking techniques, hygiene standards, and recipes.
* Food Quality & Safety: Uphold and enforce stringent food safety and hygiene standards, ensuring all dishes meet our high-quality, presentation, and taste standards.
* Operational Efficiency: Monitor the kitchen's workflow, manage supplies, and maintain kitchen equipment to ensure operational efficiency and safety.
* Leadership: Step up to lead the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef.
What We're Looking For:
* Proven experience in a similar kitchen management or sous chef role.
* Strong culinary skills and a deep understanding of cooking methods and food preparation.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building abilities.
* Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of quality and presentation.
* Strong organisational and time management skills to handle a fast-paced environment.
* Knowledge of hccap and health and safety protocols.
