We are fortunate to partner with an incredible company in the FMCG industry and are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager with a strong background in international trade, tariffs, Incoterms, and global logistics.
This role will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies, managing international suppliers, and ensuring full compliance with global import/export regulations.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of customs procedures, tariff management, and risk mitigation to optimize our global supply chain operations.
You will play a critical role in reducing landed costs, improving supplier performance, and ensuring the smooth movement of goods across borders.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Procurement
Develop and implement global procurement strategies to support business objectives.
Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with international suppliers to secure competitive pricing, high quality, and reliable supply.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the procurement process.
International Trade & Tariff Management
Ensure full compliance with import and export regulations, including customs documentation, duties, and international trade agreements.
Monitor global trade changes, sanctions, and tariff updates to proactively adjust sourcing strategies.
Utilize Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and duty optimization programs to minimize costs.
Incoterms Management
Select and negotiate Incoterms 2020 with suppliers and customers to balance risk and cost allocation.
Train internal stakeholders on Incoterms and their implications for contracts and logistics.
Logistics & Freight Coordination
Collaborate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers to optimize shipping routes and lead times.
Oversee transportation mode decisions (air, sea, road, rail) to achieve cost and service level goals.
Manage logistics performance metrics and develop strategies for continuous improvement.
Supplier Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with global suppliers and strategic partners.
Conduct supplier audits to ensure compliance with quality, sustainability, and ethical sourcing standards.
Negotiate and maintain long-term supplier agreements to secure supply continuity.
Risk & Compliance
Identify and mitigate supply chain risks related to geopolitical changes, trade sanctions, and logistics disruptions.
Ensure compliance with international sanctions (e.g., OFAC, EU regulations) and dual-use goods requirements.
Develop contingency plans to maintain supply chain resilience.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, International Business, Logistics, or a related field.
Experience:
3+ years in procurement or supply chain management, with a focus on international trade and global sourcing.
Proven track record in tariff management, customs compliance, and Incoterms application.
Experience negotiating contracts with global suppliers and managing cross-border logistics.
Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of global trade laws, tariffs, and customs procedures.
Expertise in Incoterms 2020 and international shipping terms.
Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
Analytical mindset with the ability to calculate landed costs and total cost of ownership.
Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and trade compliance tools.
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, global business environment.
