Job Title:
Residential Unit Care Manager
Description:
* The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a residential unit, providing care and support to children between the ages of 11 and 17 who come from challenging backgrounds.
* They will work in collaboration with the centre manager to develop and implement policies and procedures that promote the well-being of residents.
* Responsibilities include supervising staff, managing programmes, and maintaining relationships with external agencies.
* A Residential Unit Care Manager must have minimum QQI level 7 qualification in social care and hold or be enrolled in a programme leading to a management qualification suitable for a health or social care setting and 4 years full-time work experience in a children's residential care setting post-qualification.
* Alternatively, the manager may hold a QQI level 8 qualification in social care with 3 years post-qualification work experience in a children's residential care setting.
* A recognised qualification in social care will include equivalent social care qualifications from other jurisdictions.
* An individual who does not hold a recognised or relevant qualification but is entered onto the CORU register of Social Care Workers and has the requisite 4 years full-time work experience may be considered for a position of centre manager.
Key Responsibilities:

* 4 years full-time work experience in a children's residential care setting post-qualification
