Role Overview
At Jacobs Highways & Civils team you’ll play a key role in shaping some of the most exciting and high‑profile transport schemes across the UK and Ireland. You’ll take ownership of feasibility studies, scheme reports, and detailed highway and active travel designs—helping deliver smarter, safer and more sustainable infrastructure for the communities we serve.
Key Responsibilities
Work closely with clients, stakeholders and the public to bring clarity, collaboration and technical excellence to every stage of delivery.
Own feasibility studies, scheme reports, and detailed highway and active travel designs.
Contribute to major programmes for Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII), Irish Rail, and local authorities.

Dublin City Council Active Travel Team
N21 Newcastle West and Abbeyfeale

Qualifications
A Level 8 degree in Civil Engineering.
Attained, or close to attaining, Chartered Engineer status with Engineers Ireland or equivalent.
Understanding of Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) Publications, UK Design Manual for Roads and Bridge (DMRB) & Active Travel standards.
Proven technical experience with Major Highway, Local Road or Active Travel schemes and understanding of Health & Safety legislation.
Experience of Construction Supervision and Road Safety Auditing.
Experience of Building Information Modelling (BIM).
