UK Head of Operational Resilience (UKCP) - SVP level, Dublin
Northern Trust Corporation is seeking an experienced professional to lead our UK operational resilience efforts as a Senior Vice President.
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of operational resilience requirements across all UK Asset Servicing legal entities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining high standards of operational resiliency. The role holder will work closely with senior executives and other stakeholders to develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks and ensure business continuity.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate with legal entity Important Business Services (IBS) owners across all UK Asset Servicing legal entities to ensure effective operational resilience systems and controls are in place.
2. Designate a UK Certificated Person responsible for overseeing operational resiliency systems and controls on behalf of the Head of Branch / CEO for relevant UK legal entities.
3. Maintain oversight of the Business Services Lifecycle in accordance with the Corporate Operational Resiliency Policy and Standard, including coordinating IBS identification/assessment, confirmation, value chain and independency analysis, impact tolerance definition, and business testing.
4. Facilitate the approval of IBS and impact tolerances by the IBS owner and Head of Branch / CEO at legal entity level.
5. Support the facilitation of governance to enable senior management to steer decision-making towards continuous strengthening of resilience, including producing baseline legal entity operational resiliency metrics, reporting, and aggregation and presentation of key risks and escalations to stakeholders.
6. Maintain self-assessment documentation for each legal entity, engaging with Heads of Branch / CEO and IBS owners to promote consistent setting of resiliency risk appetite, and performing and documenting assessments of risk acceptances and exceptions.
Requirements:
* Extensive experience in risk, resiliency or operational control environments, with proven ability to direct virtual teams of senior stakeholders to successful outcomes.
* Pragmatic, logical and rigorous approach, with excellent written and oral presentation abilities.
* Knowledge of operational resiliency, disaster/business recovery, business continuity management, 3rd party vendor/outsourcing, corporate risk policies and standards, and good understanding of risk management practices and how they apply in Financial Services organisations.
* Analytical skills, including the ability to present ideas clearly to others and identify and escalate issues of concern to management, as appropriate.
