We are looking for an Underwriter to work full time (hybrid working of 2-3 days) in our Dublin, Ireland office to achieve and maintain a profitable, well-balanced, and growing portfolio with allocated intermediaries and customers to assist in meeting the long-term trading objectives of the Company.
Responsibilities
1. Work within your team, occasionally visiting intermediaries/customers, undertaking end-to-end handling of straightforward cases for the allocated portfolio to deliver the agreed joint business development plans in line with the Company’s overall trading strategy.
2. Make effective on-site decisions, within delegated authority, for intermediaries so that work is completed efficiently.
3. Work with the Underwriting team, developing strong relationships with intermediaries, balancing intermediary needs with the Company’s trading objectives to deliver profitable and balanced trading growth.
4. Plan and process your work to help the team meet its customer service and credit control targets.
5. Work with the Distribution Team to maintain accurate records for intermediaries, enabling effective communication and marketing initiatives.
6. Identify, define, and close business opportunities, seeking input from other staff when appropriate, to ensure swift and effective business proposals, securing business for the Company.
7. Act as a reference point on issues within your authority level for intermediaries, ensuring high customer service levels. Refer issues to senior Underwriters when relevant.
8. Assist in maintaining a balanced, high-quality portfolio, using gathered information effectively.
9. Undertake other duties as directed within your job level.
10. Help promote good Conduct to deliver the best outcomes for customers and policyholders.
11. Understand escalation procedures and responsibilities of relevant governance groups such as PCRSG, UCSC, ExCo, and the Board regarding Conduct Risk.
Knowledge and Skills
* Build and maintain strong internal relationships with Underwriting team members, Claims Department, Sales and Development Team, Syndicate, and Directors.
* Externally, develop and sustain relationships with contacts within intermediaries and customers.
