BnM is seeking an Commercial Real Estate & Planning Solicitor Lead who will support the Head of Legal and take responsibility for overseeing all legal aspects relating to the real estate and planning elements of renewable energy and infrastructure projects and transactions.This role will provide expert, commercially focused legal advice on a broad range of property, planning and environmental matters, with particular emphasis on large‑scale renewable energy developments. The successful candidate will play a key role in structuring and delivering complex projects, ensuring legal compliance, managing risk and supporting strategic growth initiatives.The position requires a strong background in commercial property law, planning and environmental regulation, together with sound commercial judgement, strong negotiation capability and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including development, engineering, finance and regulatory functions. Oversee timelines, deliverables, and risk mitigation to ensure successful execution aligned with organisational objectives.Oversee and Manage Title Registration Activities - Lead and coordinate all aspects of title registration for the Company’s land portfolio, ensuring accurate and timely registration of property interests with the Property Registration Authority. Manage title rectification, address defects or queries arising during registration, and collaborate with internal teams and external legal advisors to ensure that all title matters support project delivery and regulatory compliance.Manage Legal, Property, and Planning Workstreams for Major Energy Transactions - Oversee and manage all property and planning aspects of large‑scale energy transactions from instruction through completion. Lead negotiations and the drafting of commercial real estate documentation, manage external legal resources, secure third‑party land rights, and ensure compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements, including EirGrid-related obligations and financing‑phase property deliverables.Provide Strategic Legal Oversight, Budget Management, and Dispute Resolution - Offer expert legal guidance on complex property, planning, and title matters while monitoring budgets for property projects and transactions. Manage property‑related litigation and disputes, coordinate with external counsel, and provide strategic advice on resolution pathways. Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of real estate and planning law developments to inform business decisions and support project approvals.Lead and Manage All Planning Law, Environmental Law, and Permitting Workstreams - Oversee the legal aspects of planning applications, appeals, compliance, and permitting for the Company’s infrastructure developments. Work collaboratively with the planning manager, planning consultants, environmental specialists, and technical advisers to ensure robust planning strategies. Provide expert legal advice on EPA licensing (including transfers, changes of control, amendments, surrender, and enforcement risks), environmental assessments (EIA, AA, WFD, Climate Act, Habitats Directive), biodiversity and protected species issues, and all environmental constraints impacting project development.Deliver Comprehensive Planning and Environmental Due Diligence Across the Project and Transaction Portfolio - Lead and coordinate planning and environmental due diligence for the Company’s landbank, third‑party land agreements, commercial transactions, joint ventures, and project financing. Advise on planning risks, enforcement exposure, and judicial review vulnerability. Manage and oversee judicial review proceedings with external counsel and provide strategic input on risk allocation, settlement, and negotiation of transaction documents, including warranties, indemnities, and conditions precedent.Provide effective governance, legal coordination, and cross‑functional collaboration by supporting corporate governance requirements, securing necessary approvals, and drafting relevant documentation for conveyancing and planning matters. Engage proactively with internal teams and external counsel to ensure consistent legal approaches and timely project delivery. Contribute to a safe working environment and actively participate in performance management to support individual and team objectives.All employees are expected to co‑operate fully with all provisions taken by the company for ensuring Health and Safety, and Welfare of co‑employees and members of the public using the premises.Proactively participate in the Performance Management process to ensure delivery of own, and the wider team's objectives.The Person:The ideal candidate will possess the following qualification, skills, knowledge, and attributes:Qualified Solicitor or Barrister in Ireland with a minimum of 6 years’ post‑qualification experience gained in a mid/top tier firm and/or in‑house environment.Strong experience in the development of large‑scale renewable energy or infrastructure projects, with deep technical knowledge of Irish property and planning legislation.Demonstrated exposure to planning appeals, enforcement proceedings and judicial review matters.Comprehensive understanding of Irish property law, including complex title registration, land rights, easements and wayleaves.Strong knowledge of planning and environmental law and the renewable energy regulatory landscape in Ireland.Proven ability to manage stakeholders and work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams, demonstrating integrity, leadership and operational excellence.Commercially astute with the ability to balance legal risk with business objectives; proficient in MS Office, with familiarity with Legal Case Management Systems an advantage.If you wish to be considered, simply apply on or before 6th of April 2026.
