A Coffee Field Service Engineer is responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and servicing commercial and domestic coffee machines at client sites. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, customer service skills, and a passion for coffee equipment. The engineer acts as the face of the company, ensuring client satisfaction through prompt and professional service.
Key Responsibilities
Installation: Assemble and install coffee machines and related equipment at client locations, ensuring all devices are operational and meet safety standards
Maintenance: Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on a variety of coffee machines, grinders, and related equipment to minimise breakdowns and prolong lifespan
Repairs: Diagnose faults, replace parts, and repair mechanical issues on-site or in the workshop as required
Customer Support: Provide technical advice, training, and guidance to customers regarding machine operation, cleaning, and basic troubleshooting
Documentation: Complete detailed service reports, log parts used, and maintain accurate records of work undertaken
Stock Management: Manage van stock levels and order replacement parts as necessary to ensure prompt service delivery
Health & Safety: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards whilst on client premises
Relationship Management: Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business
Relationship Management: Explaining machine faults, findings and repairs undertaken to customers
Travel: Cover assigned regions, often requiring travel between multiple client sites daily

Person Specification
Technical Skills: Field Service experience in either electrical or mechanical maintenance, ideally with coffee machines or similar equipment
Problem Solving: Strong diagnostic skills with the ability to work independently and resolve issues efficiently
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a customer-centric approach
Organisation: Good time management and record-keeping abilities
Flexibility: Willingness to travel and occasionally work unsociable hours, including weekends or evenings, as required
Full Driving Licence: Essential for travel between customer sites
IT literacy for using Asset Management systems
Working Conditions
The role is predominantly field-based, requiring regular travel to client premises. The engineer may need to lift and manoeuvre heavy equipment, adhere to strict safety protocols, and adapt to varied working environments.
