Job Title: Motorway Infrastructure Engineer Location:Dublin, Ireland Company:M50 Concession Ltd Department:Operations & Maintenance Reporting To:Operations & Maintenance Manager Contract Type:Full-Time / Permanent Experience:Intermediate Company Overview M50 Concession Ltd was awarded the Public Private Partnership (PPP) Contract by the National Roads Authority (NRA) in 2007 to deliver Phase 2 of the M50 Upgrade and to operate and maintain the M50 Motorway for a 35-year period. As a long-term stakeholder in one of Irelands most critical infrastructure projects, our goal is to ensure the safe, efficient, and sustainable operation of the M50 Motorway. Role Overview We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Motorway Network Engineer to join our Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Team. This is a varied and hands-on role, ideal for an engineer with experience in motorway infrastructure, asset management, and emergency response coordination. The successful candidate will contribute to the daily operation, inspection, and maintenance of the M50 network, ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance, and performance. Key Responsibilities Perform and support both routine and comprehensive inspections of the M50 motorway and its related infrastructure. Maintain clear, consistent documentation of operational and maintenance processes systems to support efficient cross-functional collaboration. Assist with and coordinate third-party testing, for example pavement, noise, or ecological, as required. Assist in the preparation of insurance recovery documentation and third-party claims reports. Support to the Asset Manager on creating routine and cyclical works orders for corrective and planned maintenance activities, as well as variations. Training for future participation in the on-call rota supporting emergency response operations. Support winter maintenance operations. Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders for ongoing O&M works. Ensure compliance with all relevant Health and Safety legislation, standards, and company policies to maintain a safe working environment and reduce risk to personnel, assets, and operations. Provide technical and operational support across all aspects of the 24/7 O&M function of M50 concession. Key Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of construction, maintenance, and inspection practices. Excellent planning and organisational skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc) and asset management systems. Effective team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Adaptable, enthusiastic, and capable of working independently. Familiarity with Quality and Environmental Management systems desirable. Understanding of Health & Safety legislation and best practices. Experience with Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) and Chapter 8 guidelines desirable. Experience & Qualifications A relevant third-level degree or diploma in Engineering. Candidates without formal qualifications may still be considered if they possess significant and relevant industry experience. Minimum of 2 years experience in construction, engineering, maintenance, or similar infrastructure environment. Ideally experience on motorway networks but not mandatory. Full clean driving licence. Additional training or certification in TTM & PSCS coordination is desirable.
